Mrs. Cheryl McMahen

Total Years in Education: A Long Time At Emerson: 10

Grades taught at Emerson: 2^nd & 3^rd

Biggest Educational Goal: I strive to give my students a solid foundation in all subjects that I teach.

Greatest Educational Accomplishment: Achieving and maintaining National Board Certification for 20 years!

Surprising Fact: I’ve been kissed by a dolphin.

Outside of School: Loves to travel, play the piano, sing, and attend gospel music events and church

Mrs. McMahen is an exceptional teacher who has reached phenomenal outcomes in her classroom. Students are held to the highest expectations as they dig deep into the academic standards. Mrs. McMahen goes above and beyond to plan lessons and materials that reach learners. She is a great asset to Emerson Elementary as she is a mentor to many of her fellow teachers! Thank you for all your hard work, Mrs. McMahen!

February 10--ACH Dental Clinic on the elementary campus

February 10-15--Junior High District Basketball Tournament

February 12--1st grade field trip to Wentworth

February 13--Valentine's Day Party @ 10:00; students may be checked out afterward.

Parent/Teacher Conferences 3:30-7:00

February 14 & 17--Winter Break

February 17-22--Senior High District Basketball Tournament; Emerson is hosting this tournament. Any and all help or donations would be appreciated.

February 24-28--MOY ATLAS Interims for 3rd-6th

February 24-29--Senior High Regional Basketball Tournament

Procedure Changes:

Limited visitors will be allowed in the building. Please make an appointment.
All students who walk or ride in a car should not arrive to campus before 7:35; this is for the entire year.
K-2nd students can be dropped off in front of the cafeteria if needing to eat breakfast. Those who do not need to eat breakfast can be dropped off in front of the elementary building. Staff members will be available to assist students.
All 3rd-6th grade students can be dropped off by the sidewalk to the side of the cafeteria. Students can then go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast or directly to their designated location on the playground.
K-4th afternoon car riders can be picked up in front of the elementary building.
5th and 6th grade car riders can be picked up in the cafeteria parking lot.
Sibling groups with multiple-aged students from the elementary and middle school buildings can be picked up in the cafeteria parking lot.
Parents/guardians, please stay in the car for the safety of all students and staff. A staff member will walk the students to their car.
